Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Divine Thread is a relationship guidance platform that uses AI to help people understand
themselves and connect with others. Because of the deeply personal nature of what you share
with us, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what we collect,
how it is used, and what happens to your data when it is processed by our AI.
1. Information We Collect
Account information:
- Name, email address, and password (if you register)
- A browser cookie identifier (if you use the platform without registering)
Profile information you provide:
- Age, gender, orientation, location, and relationship status
- Profile photo and verification selfie
- Questionnaire responses (attachment style, values, conflict patterns, open reflections)
Information generated through conversation:
- Your full conversation history with the AI guide
- AI-extracted insights: attachment style assessment, personality traits, relationship patterns, values profile, communication style, growth areas, and readiness score
- Couples chat history (if you use the couples feature)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the AI relationship guide conversation
- To build your relationship profile from conversation and questionnaire data
- To generate compatibility assessments with potential matches
- To facilitate introductions between compatible users (with mutual consent)
- To provide couples coaching in shared conversation spaces
- To improve the quality of our AI guide through aggregate, anonymized analysis
3. AI Processing — Anthropic Claude
Divine Thread uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power the relationship guide
conversation, profile extraction, questionnaire analysis, and compatibility assessments.
Here is what this means for your data:
What is sent to Claude:
- Your conversation messages are sent to the Claude API to generate responses
- Your recent conversation history (up to 40 exchanges) is included for context
- Your profile data (attachment style, values, patterns) is included in the system prompt so the AI can build on prior conversations
- Your questionnaire responses are sent for analysis
- In couples mode, both partners' profile data and shared conversation history are sent
What Anthropic does with your data:
- Per Anthropic's privacy policy and usage policy, data sent through the API is not used to train Claude models
- Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes (abuse monitoring), after which they are deleted
- Anthropic does not sell or share API customer data with third parties
- We use Claude via the commercial API, not the consumer product — the data handling terms are those of Anthropic's commercial API agreement
What we store:
- All conversations are stored in our database so your history persists across sessions
- AI-extracted profile insights are stored in your profile record
- Questionnaire responses and AI analysis results are stored
- Photos are stored on our server
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
Your data is shared only in these specific contexts:
- Anthropic Claude API: conversation data is processed as described above
- Facilitated introductions: when both parties mutually consent, limited profile information (bio, interests, compatibility reason) is shared between matched users. Photos are only shared after mutual opt-in.
- Couples feature: the AI has access to both partners' profiles to facilitate the shared conversation, but it holds individually-shared information in confidence and does not reveal it in the shared space without the person's consent
5. Data Retention
- Account data and conversation history are retained as long as your account is active
- You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us
- Anonymous browser cookie profiles (no registered account) are retained indefinitely but can be cleared by clearing your browser cookies
6. Security
- All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plaintext)
- Photos are stored on our server, not on third-party cloud storage
- Verification selfies are never shared with other users or third parties
7. Your Rights
- You may request a copy of all data we hold about you
- You may request deletion of your account and all associated data
- You may withdraw from the matching pool at any time without deleting your account
- You control what is shared during introductions — nothing is revealed without mutual consent
8. Contact

9. Changes
We may update this policy as our platform evolves. Significant changes will be communicated
to registered users via email. The current version is always available at this URL.
